Puppy Love!

A couple months ago Morgan's puppy Mozart "Mozzie" passed away very suddenly.  She was extremely heart broken! Her Mozzie was the runt of the litter, but had the biggest personality I tell you!  Mozzie did everything with Moe, she even sat on Morgan's lap while Moe played the piano.  I know nothing can replace Mozzie and I wouldn't want to replace her, but Morgan has been talking these past few weeks about how much she missed Mozzie and so this past Friday I finally had enough saved up to take her to the Humane Society to see if there was any puppies available for adoption. She was SO surprised!  They had a new batch of Lab/Mix puppies that were about 10 weeks old.  She fell in love with this little precious thing!

BEETHOVEN "BayBay"

She is PRECIOUS!!!!!  We just can't get enough of her adorable little face.  We definitely have some puppy love going on around here!  Johnston's puppy Yoda loves having someone to play with, while my puppy Tinkerbell does not like her so much!

 Johnston got some BayBay kisses!

Johnston showing off his NO CAVITIES smile!  Got his teeth cleaned today and is good to go for another 6 months!

She loves to snuggle and be held like a baby.  I told Morgan it's sure cute now that she snuggles up on her chest to sleep, but fast forward a year from now when she's a full grown 50+ pound baby girl it won't be so cute and cuddly.  She is still going to enjoy every second she can now though!

Becca even got in on the puppy lovin' tonight!  We love this new little Jeffries addition!  Welcome Beethoven!!!!

Rainy Sunday Afternoon!

Tim and the older four headed off to church this morning while I stayed home with the youngest five. We had three cats spayed and Yoda was snipped yesterday, so we needed to stay close to home to supervise the recovering animals.  This also gave me one more day to recover from the crud that a few of us caught while we were on vacation.

Tim returned after running a few errands after church and was happy to enjoy a quick Sunday afternoon nap which just seems to make a perfect ending or beginning of a week for him.  The younger crew played with Legos and the older kiddos and I played cards until we received a surprise visit from some friends who used to live a couple houses down from us.  The kids scampered outside to play with Brady and Carter for the little time they were here.  When the twins and their dad left it had already started to rain and the littles were already deeply involved in the game they had created involving "sledding" down the muddy hill so we just let them continue.  Usually rain sends the kids inside to play, but today they enjoyed it for a couple hours....until the sun went down and it got cold quickly!

Johnston said if it hadn't gotten so dark he would have continued to play because it was so much fun!  Check out the smile!
Jameson was soaked and had mud dripping from his hair.  He said he liked how the mud squished between his toes!
The back of Davidson's legs! Not hairy, just mud and grass covered!!!!
Little Miss Holly was just as dirty and in the middle of everything as each of her older brothers! Love her smile!

Every six months = Dentist Time!

Every six months I start making the trips to the dentist.  A couple this day, a couple another day and Lord forbid they need to go for a second appointment! We usually end up taking two months from start to finish.  Today was a day to rejoice for a mom with 9 young people who need to have check ups and abstractions performed.  Today the dentist office saw all of them....in one day!!!!  It was so wonderful!  8 cleanings and one kiddo who had to have his top primary cuspids pulled.  It was two and a half hours and we are done!  For six more months!  Well...actually...four of them need to return on Monday for small touch up stuff...but then we will be done for six months.  I love it!
Jensen showing off his new Lego Creator set he received for having NO cavities!  Good job on the brushing and flossing! Proud of them all for good reports!
Davidson also got a positive report of NO cavities!!!  He's collecting the "Jurassic Park" Legos and was so excited to get his second set!
Johnston had to have two teeth extracted so his permanent teeth that had already started growing in can shift into the correct place.  He will have another checkup with the Ortho in 6 months to see if they've shifted enough for braces to be put on.  He wasn't able to get his teeth cleaned so he gets to return on Monday for his 6 month check up, but so far no cavities so...knock on wood...I'm hoping to hear a good report!  He was really excited about starting a new Lego collection and after watching the Avengers this week he decided to take his birthday money and purchase his first two sets in the Avengers Lego collection.

Becca and Holly went to spend the night at Katie/Gracie's house for the night which I know they will have a fabulous time as always. After we got home from our errands the boys settled in to play Legos while the older three and I played some cards. Max and Johnston had been asking to watch Iron Man for the past few weeks so when the little boys went to bed we all settled in with our blankets to finally watch it.  They of course loved it!  I'm sure we will be seeing a lot of Iron Man/Avengers dress up play around this house for the next week or so.  All in all...it was a very busy, but blessed day!

Jameson's Lego Firetruck!

It has been awhile again since I have blogged, but per my oldest daughter's (here ya go Jossy) request I am going to try and get back in the swing of things.  Lots to catch up on, but I figure I'll just start with what happened today and go from there.  If I get the itch to do a back post then I'll do so, but moving forward!!!

Tim and I had a little fun this past weekend and took the kids to the store and let them all pick out one toy each.  Christmas in July!!!  They were so surprised and excited!  Almost everyone got LEGOS!!!  My house is full of Legos!  We love Legos also and enjoy spending time building with the kids.   Jameson is currently into City Legos.  Anything with Police or Firemen. So he was overjoyed to pick up a new Lego firetruck that he did not have yet.
He did such a good job following all the directions by himself.  This is a great addition to his collection and he has been having tons of fun!!!  Every morning the younger boys get up as early as they can wake up and get their morning stuff done so they can get right to the Legos before breakfast.  I usually wake up to the sound of all sorts of strange sounds, laughter and loud enthusiastic little men voices as the four of them play in their room.  Sweet memories!

Budding Fashionista!

The girls and I had a very busy day which included lunch at El Sombrero and shopping at thrift stores!  Becca found two (new to her) pairs of skinny jeans, some army boots for the kids adventures in the great outdoors, and she scored big time on these awesome Madden high tops!  They were in perfect shape and for only $5...right in her spending budget!
(I had a pair of these back in the late 80's...HA!)

When we got home Becca pulled out her wardrobe and started putting together new outfits.  She was blessed with two new bags of clothing from...actually I have no idea who...but she sat me down in the living room and started going through the new stuff and her old stuff and came up with some new fresh looks!!!  She loves putting clothing together and coming up with new things.  She has a lot of fun doing this and actually puts outfits together for her younger siblings when they let her.
This was one of her new outfits.  The brown leggings and skirt she had tucked away waiting for a top to be able to wear.  When she pulled this sweater out she was ecstatic, it was the perfect thing to pull the little bit of yellow in the skirt out!

Of course she has to pass all outfits by her daddy who gets the final say in what goes out the door....he's a little protective about his girls....this outfit passed, but even though she tried bless her little heart she still isn't going to get heels out of the house until she is older....much older!  They are really cute cheetah heels though!

When did this happen?

Tonight Johnston and I were sitting on the couch laughing at Becca who was being such a goof.  Becca claimed that her foot was bigger then Johnston's which then led to measuring of feet.  Of course I knew Johnston's feet were bigger then Beccas (12) and even Max (14) or Morgans(15), he passed them this Summer.  Then he wanted to measure his foot against mine, so when we put our feet on the board to measure them this is what I found!!!!  Can it be that my eleven year olds feet are just about to pass mine?  I mean...I have big feet and I am not ashamed to admit it...but when did Johnston's feet grow this big and what does this mean.  I mean he is only ELEVEN!  He has years of growing left...lots of growing...YIKES!
(It seems like only yesterday this foot fit in the palm of my hand and now...wow!)

Now that I'm writing this I realize yet again how quickly my kids are growing up. In the blink of an eye they will all be grown, spreading their wings and moving on into their future lives.
 Loving every second we have!

Our "Forever Ours" day!

More to come about our "Forever Ours" day in the near future!  I just had to share this one picture to those who have been requesting one.  A very memorable day indeed!
