Cornhole!!!

So every time Grandpa has come to visit he has told us about this game called Cornhole!  Tim and the boys found all the supplies in our garage to actually make our own Cornhole game with Grandpa.  Tonight after we got home from dinner Tim, the kids and Grandpa got right to playing!
Some of the kids played in the pool and watched/cheered on the Cornhole players!
Grandpa/Max were a team and Tim/Morgan were another.
Throwing bean bags trying to get them in the hole.
Justice kept score of the game.  First team to reach 21 wins!
Second round was Becca/Justice against Johnston/Grandpa!
The guys sure loved this game....the girls not so much...but the guys REALLY loved it!  It's all about competition I guess!
LOL!  This picture says it all...I just can't type what it's saying!  It could hurt someone's feelings and I don't want to do that.  I love how kids don't hold back their facial expressions...that's something that comes with age.
Max was the score keeper for this game!
Davidson/Jameson were waiting for their turn at a round of Cornhole.
LOL!  Jensen is a ninja and these are his moves!
Finally their turn!  They loved it!  It was Davidson/Jensen against Jameson/Daddy!
Jensen won first prize for best Cornhole throwing form!  He's hilarious!
Jameson got first place for amazing throwing for being so little!

Overall the men/boys loved the game....us girls....well we might find us a girls thing to do when they break out the Cornhole! ;)  Thanks grandpa for introducing us to Cornhole!

Another visit!

We were supposed to go to our friends church today, but a couple of the kiddos were up coughing most the night.  Tim decided we were going to have a morning at home together.  It was rather relaxing and enjoyable.  We stayed in our pjs until after lunch which is a lot of fun to do once in a while!  I'm so glad we got to spend the time together with no rushing or push to be anywhere.
I enjoyed some snuggin' with Jameson!  Cuddle butt!
All was peaceful, calm and snuggly!
Until Max brought out the gun and Johnston had to protect daddy!
Apparently Johnston lost the fight and is doing a dramatic death scene.
The boys watched Max make the bean bags for the cornhole game they built with Grandpa yesterday.  They all were so very excited to play the game!
We were sitting around talking and I realized that this is what I see daily.  Holly in a ballet outfit with her Cinderella heels, Jensen in a karate uniform, Jameson in his Buzzlightyear outfit, and Davidson in his Narnia/Ninja outfit.  Each day it is something different...from ball gowns to Jedi costumes!  I might see one kid in 20 different outfits in one day.  I love it!
All I can do is shake my head sometimes!  This girlie loves her daddy...but he's such a stinker sometimes.  LOL!  I love him and his awesome sense of humor so much!
After lunch Tim went to take his much anticipated Sunday afternoon nap, most of the kids went down to start up a new dress up game, the older kiddos lounged around and read.  I thought it would be a great time to cut Davidson's "Beiber-ific" hair.  He now has a fohawk which he thinks is really fun!  I think it turned out pretty well for my first try.  I will definitely will be cutting more hair this upcoming week before we start school on the 8th!
Grandpa and Grandma got to our house around 4pm and they treated us to Golden Corral.  One of the kids favorite places to eat.  It was a lot of fun and the kids definitely enjoyed every bit!  I had to take a picture of Max's ice cream cone.  He put Gummybears in the bottom of it!  Seriously?!?!  *shakes head*  All I could do was laugh!

After we got home the kids wanted to get right to playing cornhole and some went straight into the pool.  I will post about our game a little later!  It's been a full day and it's not over yet!

A beautiful day!

Today we woke up and jumped out of bed without our usual slow Saturday morning pj, blankets, fruit loops and cartoons on the couch routine!   We were excited because Grandma and Grandpa were coming to visit and we had stuff we needed to do so that we could just sit and enjoy our time with them.
Lil miss dressed up for her visitors in her "most favorite" outfit!  She's just a wee bit cute!!!

Our wonderful visitors arrived and we had a great time.  The kids pulled out puzzles and we had puzzles everywhere!  Our living room floor and kitchen table were covered!  It was fun though!  Some of the kids really tackled some hard puzzles and it was great to see them stick it through and finish them.  I was really proud of them.
Jameson tackled a new puzzle that was pretty challenging for his first time!
He wasn't overwhelmed by how long it took him either!
Different angles help.
He persisted and finished it all on his own and he was SO proud of himself!  Doesn't that face just melt your heart?

Every time Grandpa comes down to visit he tells us about this game called Cornhole.  Tim thought it would be a great idea to build our own Cornhole game while Grandpa was visiting.  They scrounged in the garage and found everything they needed.  It was extremely hot outside, but they didn't care.  They were so excited to build something with Grandpa!
They had a lot of fun building together!
Even the littlest man got in on the action!

While the men worked, us girls took Grandma and went to the new JoAnn's in Gainesville.  We oooh and ahhh'd over lots and lots of stuff.  We are excited about starting some sewing projects soon.  Morgan got some new cross-stitch material, Becca and Holland each a small craft to  paint and put in their room.  When we got home Holly got back to doing puzzles while we got dinner ready for everyone.
Holly finished two more puzzles before dinner!  The kids literally did puzzles all day between playing, building, shopping, etc.

After Grandpa and Grandma left Morgan, Justice and I watched a few episodes of America's Got Talent.  We totally love that show!  It was fun just sitting and hanging out with the kids after a beautiful day together with family!

What a fantabulous day!

The kids had a fantabulous day today!  They love the two weeks prior to starting school.  These weeks I am gearing up for the new year and closing out the old year.  After breakfast the kids scattered to play.  They had a few friends over and wanted to play a "rousing" *rolling of eyes* dress up game of Star Trek.  They turned the entire blue room into their Star Trek spaceship and imaginary space.  They played this literally all day long...even in the pool!  It was awesome!  Somehow the kids were able to wrangle Justice into playing the Captain.  He being the most awesome Justice joined right in and he told me at dinner tonight that he had just as much fun as them.  I love that boy!

Morgan and I had a blast getting rid of the old and looking through everything for the new school year.  She has a lot of great ideas and I love her insight!  We laughed a lot and got our goal for today done lickitysplit.  While the kids were in the pool playing Star Trek with Justice we made cucumber/tomatoe salad over hot rice which is our favorite thing this summer.  While we ate we watched the first episode of Heartland.  Morgan's friend told us about it and it seems like a series we are going to love.

Becca tried her hand at making pinto beans tonight.  Wow!  They were amazing!  She was very proud of herself and rightly so.  She asked me before she went to bed if she could make them again and try something new with them.  I look forward to seeing what she tries.  She mentioned something about cilantro and we love cilantro so it's probably going to be great!  Max made some really good corn bread to go with the beans.  We were a little nervous as his last attempt at cooking turned out to a meal that was like eating glue. *shudders at the memory*  When he asked if he could make it I knew we had to give him the chance to redeem his cooking status!  LOL...which he did!

Had to add these cute pics of Becca with Mr. Chub Chubs!
 They are just so precious!
She was trying to get all three kittens in her pockets, but Mr. Chubb Chubbs was very interested in what was going on behind her and Jedi was escaping her pocket!  Cute picture still!

Tonight was my night to hang with Justice/Morgan so we could catch up on the America's Got Talent episodes that we have missed.  Morgan made triple berry sundae's for us.  Blueberries, Blackberries and Raspberries!  They turned out really refreshing and yummy.  Her goals was to make something like the ones you can get from the food court at Sam's Club and she hit it right on.

We survived our first teen party!

Morgan asked me last week if they could have a party and invite all their friends!  I told her of course she could and she sure did!  Last night we had all together 29 kids here.  It was great noisy chaotic awesomeness!  There were kids in the pool, kids in the basement having Wii dance competitions (which I found out Christian dominated!), kids running through the house with lightsabers and guns, kids on the playground in back, and some just hung out and talking with the adults.  There were kids everywhere!!!!  It was great!
Lots of kiddos were in the pool!
The kids spent a lot of time in the pool!  There were a few pool breaks where the kids went and ate or played somewhere else.  They finally gave the pool a rest after 2am and retreated to the basement to watch movies!
Just a few of the awesome kids that came!  Aaron, Lauren, Abby and Roland!
Lots of texting between swimming, dancing, games, eating....still the texting!  LOL!
A few awesome moms hung out for a while as well!
Max grilled 160 hot dogs, we had potato salad made with 10 pounds of potatoes and 20 eggs, tons of cookies, chips and drinks!  We have so much left over!!! I'm glad kids spent the night and helped us eat some of the leftovers. :)
 Ha...caught Christian mid-bite!!!!
The kids had a long dance off competition downstairs.  It was LOUD!!!!  Lots of laughter, lots and lots of laughing!!!  I love to hear them laughing and having such a good time!  The lovely Lydia, Brianna, and Yanisa!
Justice, Lauren, Aaron, Abby, and Avery!
Morgan rockin' her pink hair!
There was even a Root Beer fight I hear amongst the kiddos.
John seeming ever so cool!
The lovely Hannah!!!!

Around 1am the last few people started trickling out leaving only a few that had decided to stay the night.  The kids decided to go jump on the trampoline after everyone left (reason #101 that I love being so far off the road...no one hears our kids when they are playing late at night during the summer!) and then around 2am decided to take one last swim because they were so hot from the trampoline!  Tim and I were able to get everyone inside around 3am, locked the doors and we went to bed.  When the teens came out of the basement this afternoon they told us that most of them had stayed up with homemade brownies/milk, watching movies, had more dance competitions, and played Apples to Apples until after 6am.  Crazy teens!  They had a blast though and are already planning one for next month.
