Weekend at Grandmas!

Johnston was up, showered, and ready to go this morning.  Today was the start of his weekend with Grandma.  (Tim's mom, Jean. ♥)  She loves having the kids over and they LOVE spending time with her as well.  Birthday's are a great time to celebrate each of them one on one.  :)

Johnston will always hold a special place in this grandma's heart.  Johnston happens to be the first grandchild she had. (He was #7 for my parents.)  After to many years of believing she would never hold the honored title of Grandma he came into our lives.  Many grandchildren came after him.  Two special ones via Tim's sister, Kristin and 11 more amazing grandchildren that God blessed us with via the blessing called adoption.

He called us to tell us goodnight and to fill us in on the fun they had gotten into.  He spent his birthday money on some Lego sets he had been wanting, ate at Cracker Barrel, and settled down with Grandma to build his new Hobbit Lego set while watching The Hobbit with her.

He informed me that they are going to an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast at Jean's church in the morning.  Those are words that excite my kids.  All.  You.  Can.  Eat.  Besides Legos and No School Today...All-You-Can-Eat might just be their favorite words to ever hear!  ;)

I am so blessed to have great grandparents involved in my children's lives.  As an adult I have no memories of my mom's parents and barely any of my dad's.  I love that my kid's will have amazing stories and memories of their time with Tim's and my parents to pass on to their children some day.  ♥

All in a day!

Finally fell asleep at 5:30 am this morning (thank you insomnia...NOT!) only to be awake at 8am to rally the kids for the very busy day we had ahead of us.  Thursdays have become that day of the week for us that has us running non-stop all day long.

We were out of the house by 8:30am to get Max, Becca, and Johnston to their piano lessons.  Becca had her violin lesson at 10am. I was very thankful that the piano lessons are in store a and violin are in store b....located right beside each other.  What a blessing that is!

Had enough time to run home again to drop of the three kids and pick up Justice for work.  Ran him to work while all the kids ate lunch.

Got home to eat a quick lunch myself.  (Morgan had made a wonderful batch of homemade bread and egg salad for us all! ♥ )  It was much needed as I had forgotten to grab breakfast in my mad dash to get to music lessons this morning.

We did some school that we can only do at home and before long we loaded up again to go to the YMCA.  We met up with some homeschool friends to swim and play for a few hours.  (We call this PE!)  The kids brought their remaining school work to finish in the car during our driving time which worked out perfectly!

The kids worked it out that we would end up at Wendy's for free Frosty's.  They are quite persuasive!  ;)  After Frosty's we headed over to Tim's mom's house to walk her very active dog, Sugar, since she is unable to.  This is a huge help to her and I love that her grandchildren love to bless her in this way.  Somehow in the midst of this all I was talked into having Becca's BFF over for the night.  Yes, I'm a push over for these kids.

We grabbed groceries and made it home by 7:30pm.  Dinner, filing away school stuff from the day, ran back out one last time to pick Justice up from work, and home at 9pm to put the car keys to bed!

Morgan, Becca, Katie and I settled in to watch A Walk To Remember after everyone had gone to bed.  It was a nice way to end this very, very long day.

After reading everything we got accomplished today I realize how very blessed we are to be able to have music lessons, jobs, time swimming and playing with our friends, buying groceries and so much more.  We are so blessed and for that I am truly thankful.  :)
