Visitors!

Yet another thing I love about homeschooling is that it allows the kids to use their imaginations all day long if they choose.  When I called the kids in to start school I was very pleased to have visiting royalty arrive.  Queen Becca, King Johnston and Sir Davidson wanted to try their hands at our lowly school work!  LOL!  They were very diligent workers and quickly were on their way back to wherever they hailed from.
I love seeing kids playing together and having fun making memories that will last a lifetime.  I have to say that the children in our home have a deep bond and love for one another that I don’t often see among siblings.  It’s an amazing feeling seeing kids that truly love one another and care for each other.  I am thankful!

Random Dozen #2

Another week has gone by and it’s that time again (I’m a little behind!) ~ thanks again Linda for hosting Random Dozen.

1. If you physically lock in one age for yourself, which would you choose and why? I’m loving the age I’m at.  I love my life and personally don’t want to change anything about it!
2. What is the best dish that you cook or bake (your piece de resistance?) Hmm….sour cream coffee cake!  Yum!  (My mom’s recipe is the bestest!)
3. When you feel blue, what is one strategy you use to help yourself back to normal? Doing something fun with the kids.  Playing games, crafts, watching a movie that makes us all laugh!
4. When was the last time you danced in public? In public?  LOL!  NOT!  At home all the time…especially when I wanna make one of my boys turn red!
5.
Do you consider yourself a realist or dreamer? I would say I’m a bit of a dreamer, yet I live a realist life!  How’s that for an answer?
6.
As a parent, what is one thing that you have done well? Um….keeping lines of communication open.
7.
Which is your favorite character on the Andy Griffith show? Gomer Pyle!  Love him!
8.
On a scale of 1-10, how much do you know about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.? Maybe a 4.  Not that much sadly, but hoping to change that in the near future!
9.
What is your #1 driving pet peeve? Seeing mom’s holding little babies in the front seat of cars or seeing little children walking all around a car while it’s being driven.  Grrrr!
10.
Which color best represents your mood today? Care to elaborate? Rainbow!  Lots of colors that are beautiful!  I had a wonderful day.  Celebrated Tim’s birthday, took the older kids shopping for his present and got haircuts for the girlies!  It was a day of many colors…even though it was gray outside!
11.
If your spouse were an animal, which would he/she be? The first animal that came to mind was a Koala cause he’s such a cuddly guy!
12.
What activity takes up the bulk of your time on an average day?
LOL….the kids in my life!!!!!!!

Wordless Wednesday!

First Random Dozen!

This looks like a lot of fun!  I am going to try and participate in the Random Dozen that Linda hosts over at 2nd Cup of Coffee.

1. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being a cranky-baby-hissy-fitter, how much of a complainer are you? Um…maybe a 5.  I sure try not to though!
2. When someone else is talking, do you listen, or are you thinking about what you’re going to say in response? Honestly, I would have to say both.  More listening, but I know I have done the other as well.  Sometimes I have something so good to say in response that it just needs to come out and then when I have a chance to talk…I forget!  LOL!  Maybe I need to work on listening more, talking less.
3. I just deleted 1062 messages from my email account. Do you have any plans for a clean sweep this month–of anything?  We cleaned out the attic this past weekend.  We now have triple the space to store stuff!  Which means almost all of the stuff in our house that needs to be stored is up in the attic.  It is awesome!
4. Tell us about your perfume. Was it a gift? What does it remind you of? Do you have a signature scent? I’m not a real perfume girl.  I’m more of a bath and body works spray kind of girl.  My mom has given me a few of her hand me downs that are nice, but I forget to wear them.
5. What is your best organizing tip for the new year? We fold our sheets and put them under our mattress’.  So there are two sets of sheets for each bed in our house.  Putting the set under the mattress keeps me from having to store them in my much needed hall closet or somewhere else.
6. What is your favorite comic strip? Um…..um…..maybe Family Circus…don’t really read the comics!
7. Do you sleep with a fluffy or flat pillow? I have a really nice memory pillow that is great on the neck!  Love it!  Tim however has one flat and one fluffy put together…it’s amazing!
8. What color is your kitchen? Why did you choose that color? Very light blue.  My MIL chose it, but I like it because I love cobalt blue in the kitchen!
9. What’s the most interesting bumper sticker you’ve seen? Um….I see them all the time and for some reason can’t bring even one to memory! :(
10. Do you prefer an expensive writing tool or whatever is lying around? (Are you a Montblanc or a Papermate?) LOL….I’m happy if I can find a crayon that isn’t broken!  Anything that works is great!
11. What chore doesn’t feel like a chore – you just enjoy it (at least most of the time)? Hmmmm…good question.  Cleaning my kitchen…I love a clean kitchen!
12. If your parents often repeated themselves, what is something one of them said more than once? My dads saying when we were in trouble…."Your in deep Kimchee!" LOL!  He still says it to my kids!

Picture Perfect!

The kids have been asking when we were going to get a group picture done and we had put it off for way to long.  So right before Thanksgiving we gathered them quickly and did it.   The kids had so much fun.  They were very easy to work with so we were in and out in about an hour.
ot quite a dozen!
Beautiful!
The Magnificent Seven!

We are slowly getting pictures of the kids up around the house.  Definitely something we need to work on in 2010!

A new year!

I can’t believe we are already sailing into 2010 and I am just now getting back into the saddle on blog land.  I have to say I was very disappointed in myself last year.  I wasn’t as faithful to blogging as I should have been, but if you know us you know last year was a hectic year.  I had to let a few things go and pictures/blogging was one of them.  2010 is the year of getting back on track!  On many things, health, wealth and blogging!  LOL!  So keep a watch I will be back online…hopefully daily!
Didn’t want to leave you without a picture of cute stuff!  The kids drag their mattresses into the living room and bring out the mini trampoline.  Put them together and hours of winter fun when it’s way to cold to exercise outside happens!  Crazy faces!!!!
